So flashback Friday time and I'm in a nostalgic mood. I've recently been thinking of my time in Paris a lot and it's seriously making me want to go back.
The particular memory that I'm going to talk about today has to do with my last day abroad. In order to go out big, me and Christina decided to take a trip out to Reims to visit a champagne cellar and although we eventually made it there, our day was filled with setbacks and frustration. There were lots of ups and downs; one moment we thought we were going to be able to go and then the next we wouldn't be able to because there were no trains to take us and then finally we found some tickets but they were a lot more expensive than we thought they were...it was a lot worse than it sounds but believe me, it was a mess.
Later when we got back to Paris, it started raining hard and me and Christina had one of the biggest fights I can remember (I even ripped my new shorts out of frustration :( ). I don't recall what it was over exactly but that's usually how fights are remembered when they're caused by exhaustion. At this point we still hadn't eaten and were starving. So we finally settle upon this little cafe called "Le Temps De Cerises" and pop in to dodge the rain. It was such a nice little picturesque French Cafe; small, quaint and peaceful with friendly bartenders. Anyways, after a couple glasses of French wine and a platter of cold cuts, cheese and bread to fill our bellies, we made up and enjoyed what was left of our last evening in Paris.
Thinking back on it, this day was definitely one of the most memorable during my trip to Europe. I would say that at the time, I thought 90% of it was bad things; either frustration, fights, or disappointment. But the 10% of good times is all that I think of. That's what I hold on to and I wouldn't wish that day to have happened any other way.
